On the market there are lots of types of off-road vehicles.
One of the most famous utility vehicle is Jeep Willys. This vehicle was built in large quantity during the WWII. It was the car of the US Army and they used it in every situation. In particular it was used for tactical transportations, patrol and ambulance to save the wounded soldiers. The success recorded during the Second World War made it the best off-road car and became the precursor of the modern Jeep.
Nowadays, the off-road market is having big success. In the past Jeep was only used as off-road, while today we find beautiful models produced by car manufacturers such as BMW, AUDI, MERCEDES and JEEP. Today FCA (ex FIAT) also produces off road vehicles. People use these models every day and not only for off-trucks purpose. We can say that in recent years Jeep is producing very smart models and they are becoming very fashionable among young people.
Now let’s take a look about the modern off road vehicles. We can immediately notice some esthetic differences. The Jeep was completely uncovered and didn’t have all the comforts that we expect to find in recent cars. Also in modern cars we find many electronic components: some do act on the mobility part of the car as ABS, anti-slip system, automatic suspension. The most comfortable dotation is the electronic gearbox. Another element that makes your driving very comfortable is the heated parts. In old machines, we don’t find any electronic component.
Another fantastic off-road car is the Land Rover Earth roamer, particularly used for long trips on off-tracks.
I like this vehicle so much because it brings me back to Sahara desert where my grandfather used to go. Granddad told me that, whit his Land Rover, he used to go everywhere without any problem. Some pictures show him driving in a river, where water reached 80cm. I can’t forget this car.
Finally I tell you something about Suzuki Vitara. I have this car in my garage in the mountains and I really love it. I usually drive with my dad through mountain tracks, near the forest; it would be impossible to go there with any other car. It is really difficult to stop this car and I like to drive it on very high slopes because I know it always brings me where I want to go! I am putting specific accessories on it to go off-road, such as headlights.
I personally recommend this car to people loving nature and adventure.
